Matley Hurd is a San Francisco based artist whose work is focused on bright and powerful God-like beings called “Star Goddesses” wearing colorful armored suits or engulfed by cosmic wave forms. Matley is drawn to this subject matter through his interest in science fiction and mythology and his murals can be found around San Francisco and the East Bay.
Matley’s mural is called Ursa and he says, “This piece represents ‘hope’ in a subtle way. The goddess is depicted as if she’s gazing off into the future with hopes of brighter days ahead. While being surrounded with constant obstacles that can take any form.”
